Top Henderson Coffee Spots

But first, Coffee….

It’s been said that mornings are for coffee and contemplation (you can’t really have one without the other, right?), so we are here to help you, with the coffee part any way. One of the best things about visiting a new city is trying the local, unique spots not in your own hometown. Enjoying a cup of coffee can be done anywhere, coffee is an easy draw, but the individual vibe and atmosphere is what will leave an impression and keep you coming back for more.

P.S. Not that we need to remind you to bring your smart phone, but heads up, these spots are all Instagram-worthy.

Bad Owl Coffee – Break your morning spell at this Harry Potter themed coffee shop. Featuring the fantasy novels themed decor and beverages to match, you are guaranteed to feel the magic in this local roastery. This self-described “serious coffee with a hint of magic” cafe delivers the goods with the likes of Lavender Latte and Butter Brew Latte (butterscotch flavored inspired by Harry Potter’s Butter Beer) and you don’t have to be a Harry Potter junkie to appreciate the Harry Potter inspired quotes on the tables and more importantly the food! Offering delicious sandwiches, avocado toast, waffles, and desserts, this café can be your breakfast AND your lunch spot.

HI-Coffee Café – Craving the feel of some island vibes with your coffee? HI-Coffee Café is the place to be! Serving 100% Kona Coffee, tea, Hawaiian desserts, boba tea, real fruit smoothies and breakfast sandwiches, this relaxed and welcoming café is full of Aloha. While there, you are sure to see locals seeking their own mental vacation getaway and enjoying all the feels (in fact, check out their social media and see all the dancing!). Make it there on a Sunday to capitalize on “Ube Sunday Funday” featuring Ube desserts like Ube scones, Ube turnovers and Ube muffins, you will be uber happy you did.

Public Works Coffee Bar – Public Works Coffee Bar is situated in the heart of Henderson – the Water Street District. This coffee bar is a neighborhood favorite featuring pastries, breakfast and lunch items and craft beer from the finest locally sourced vendors. The friendly staff, an elevated pet friendly patio as well as an art gallery displaying the work of local artists, really makes this coffee bar feel like the bar where everyone knows your name. Check out their website for current information on their trivia games (and not trivia like history trivia, we’re talking trivia like FRIENDS, The Office and Harry Potter trivia) and ping pong tournaments. No matter if you are there for coffee, a beer or to play (or watch) the competitions, you will leave having made new friends.

Zen Coffee Bar – The name itself is self-explanatory – no rigidness, only chillness. Inspired by nature, Zen Coffee Bar is a friendly gathering place to savor great coffee (the Vietnamese cold brew is a must try), but also tea, matcha, craft drinks and some light bites. There are so many words to describe the space – sleek, modern, minimalist, yet comfortable. The natural plants, succulents, mini library (yes, you can borrow AND/OR donate books), and comfortable seating are what makes this coffee bar unique and deliver on their vision of an ambiance of calm, serenity and harmony.

I love Café Lola – No, really that’s its name – I love Café Lola – and you will too! This modern & vibrant twist on a classic European Café is in a league of its own. Where else can you get a bougie box of Coco Chanel embossed doughnuts? It’s true, they have them. And if doughnuts aren’t your thing, you have the option to stick to the menu with both brunch and afternoon lunch options, as well as coffees and teas (because per Café Lola, Tea is always a good idea). No matter what you fancy to eat and drink, you will want to make sure you’re picture ready because 1. This place is too pretty to not look the part and 2. You will definitely want to take a photo against the wall size “Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets” backdrop and the pink phone booth decked out in pretty in pink floral.
